How to Watch Trump Rally in Austin, Texas: Time, Live Stream for GOP Event

Former President Donald Trump will be speaking Saturday at an all-day event in Austin, Texas, featuring a number of conservative speakers.

The American Freedom Tour event, which is being held at the Austin Convention Center, begins at 8:15 a.m. and runs until 5 p.m. CDT. Websites including World Wire and The Conservative Nut will be posting live streams of the event.

The roster of speakers includes conservative political commentator Dinesh D’Souza, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, the ex-president’s son, Donald Trump Jr, and more.

“We love Austin, we love Texas, we thought it would just be great, sometimes people say Austin’s liberal, things like that, but there’s still people who want to see these kinds of events, they love President Trump, and so we thought let’s bring him to Austin,” said Chris Widener, the president of the American Freedom Tour, local news station Fox 7 Austin reported.

The event comes as Trump has hosted several rallies around the country ahead of this year’s midterm elections.

At a rally in Pennsylvania last week, the former president stumped for Republican Senate candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz. Rally-goers booed when he introduced the celebrity physician, as some conservatives have taken issue with Trump’s endorsement.

Trump also held a rally in Nebraska ahead of the state’s gubernatorial primary election this month. The candidate who received Trump’s endorsement, Charles Herbster, lost this week to GOP candidate Jim Pillen.

Herbster had been accused of sexual assault by eight women just weeks before the polls opened.

At a rally in North Carolina in April, Trump vowed to seek “justice” for his supporters who were arrested over the storming of the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.

“We will, while we’re at it, demand justice for the January 6 prisoners and full protection of their civil rights,” he said.

More than 750 people have been arrested in connection with the Capitol riot, and about 70 individuals have received criminal sentences so far.

On its website, the American Freedom Tour describes itself as the “nation’s preeminent event series designed to equip conservatives across the country to Win Back America. We celebrate the greatness of America and the four pillars of conservatism—Faith, Family, Finances and Freedom,” adding that “the greatest conservative insiders and influencers of our time have joined together to promote a conservative agenda and protect America’s future.”

Another American Freedom Tour event is scheduled to take place in Memphis, Tennessee, in June.
